    Axure Pattern Library

In scouring the web in search for an Axure pattern library similar to the ones released for other prototyping software, I discovered that no such thing seems to exist.  Inspired by the lack of something so important to new (and experienced) users, I've put a small pattern library together.  Some of it was inspired by the wonderful posts on this forum.

    UPDATE - Version 2: http://www.acleandesign.com/2008/09/axure-design-pattern-library-v2/

    Old version - http://www.acleandesign.com/2008/09/axure-design-library-v1/
    Chinese Translation - http://userxper.com/axure_download/axure_library_acleandesign

I'm sure other folk on here have made some awesome patterns of their own, and I encourage you to share them with the community as well!  I'm also willing to make additions to the file itself if there's interest.

I really like your Advanced Widgets! Nice work!
    Putting them in Masters: excellent!

    Keep up the good work!

    Attachment: mail-form.rp

I made a fake mailform master.
    It looks like this:

Maybe it comes in handy for someone.
    (It's only one master)
If you like, you can download the attachment.

*I wish more of these patterns came on this forum*

    Re: Axure Pattern Library

I've also posted this to the IxDA list and apparently there is quite a bit of interest in collaborating on an open source Axure masters library.  I'll try to get the right people in touch with each other and keep you all posted.

    Re: Axure Pattern Library

    Nice job!

I've developed my own custom widgets when developing static wireframes and specs with Axure. Is there any way you can expand this so different people can contribute the the project?

    Re: Axure Pattern Library

Hi! This library is very useful!
I'm trying to use the Calendar and I'd like to know if is it possible to control the onclick event.
    I wouldn't like to open a popup.
    Thanks a lots!

    Clara

    Re: Axure Pattern Library

    Clara,

You can edit any part of the template to your heart's desire.  That's the idea!  Open up the master, select the Image Map region over the calendar, and either delete it or change the interaction on it ("Other" type interactions pop up in a new window).

    Re: Axure Pattern Library

    Two questions:

1 why did you use Image Map Region instead of Hyperlink widget ?

2 when the 2nd APL will be pubished?

B .T.W thx for your great contribution!

    Re: Axure Pattern Library

These are fantastic.  I didn't think animations were even possible!  Based on your expanding box widget I was able to figure out how to make a loading progress bar.  Thanks so much.

A loading progress bar... do you mind sharing it?
So we can see what you made of it?

    Re: Axure Pattern Library

@jnajarro:  Progress bar is a great idea, I'll include one in the next library update

@suso: It depends on the situation, but sometimes the image map is just a little easier to work with than hyperlink (you can control the size more easily).  They can do the same interactions though.  The next library update will be coming very soon..

On that note, does anyone have requests for specific widgets in the Library?

    Re: Axure Pattern Library

You guys might be interested to know that I have been working on the ultimate Axure pattern library since the beginning of his year. The intention is to release this as an open source project, however structuring the project so that everyone will be happy has taken some time.

We're in the process of developing a placeholder website, and I'll post some more information here as soon as it's available.

There is one area where some feedback would be of help: we are struggling to come up with a name that wouldn't infringe Axures trademark. Any suggestions are welcome!

    Cheers.
