    button not disabled in Firefox

    Hello,

I've set a button to be disabled unless a specific value is selected in a dropdown list.  In Axure (5.6.0.2097), the button looks disabled. In IE 8, the button looks disabled and acts correctly according to the case statement. In Firefox 3.5.6, the button does not look disabled, but does act correctly according to the case statement.

Is there something else I need to do to make the button look disabled in Firefox, or is this an issue with Axure and Firefox?

    Thank you,

     Heidi

    Hi Heidi,

I did a little test where clicking a shape disabled a button and it seemed to work and look correct in Firefox 3.5.6. Could you send a sample .rp file to support@axure.com so we can see what the issue is?

Thanks, Victor. I just sent an email with the .rp file and screengrabs of what the button looks like for me in Axure, IE, and Firefox.

Hi there! This issue seems to apply also to Chrome, at least version 4.0.249.78...

Re: button not disabled in Firefox

Hi Antti, with Heidi's file we identified that the disabling of the button was working correctly. The reason the rendering did not look disabled in Firefox was because the theme on the computer was set to Windows Classic. The way the disabled button looks in Chrome is determined by Chrome and the settings on the OS.

An alternative is to use the Button Shape widget for the button instead of the actual Button widget. Then you can define a Disabled style (right-click Edit Button Shape->Edit Disabled Style) for that widget that will look consistent across browsers.
