Is there any way that you can insert images into the background of buttons? For example, take an image of an existing button from the application being prototyped and insert it into the button field in Axure to mimic the look in the actual application? Thanks.

Hi Justin,

You could copy and paste the button image onto the wireframe which will create an image widget (or double-click on an image widget to import an image of the button) and then add the OnClick interaction to the image widget without using the button. You can also add rollover and mouse down images to the image widget to make it even more like the application. http://www.axure.com/p201_5.aspx

Thanks for your help. I'm curious, will the image map function also generate the same results? For instance, if I paste the image onto a page and then map out the specific regions to do what I need. Or is a wireframe the best way to do this? Thanks.

Hi Justin,

That's one of the main purposes of the image map region widget. When you import a screenshot/image you can put that widget over certain areas of it to add notes and interactivity.
